We are working to create the corporate structure that will support the Books Maker product.

In the meantime, we report below what will be the Privacy Policy.

PRIVACY POLICY

NOTICE PURSUANT TO ART. 13 OF EU REGULATION 2016/679 (GDPR)

This notice is issued pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter "GDPR") and describes how the personal data of users who visit and use the website dedicated to the Books Maker product and the product platform is processed.

2. PERSONAL DATA SUBJECT TO PROCESSING

The Company, through the Books Maker website, collects the following categories of personal data:

3. PURPOSE AND LEGAL BASIS OF PROCESSING

Your personal data is processed for the following purposes and based on the respective legal bases provided by the GDPR:

C. Customer Communications (Sending account-related alerts, deadlines, technical and service updates). Performance of a contract or Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.b / Art. 6.1.f) For the entire duration of the contractual relationship.
D. Marketing Activities (Sending newsletters, commercial offers and promotional communications about Company products and services). Consent (Art. 6.1.a) Until the user withdraws consent (Opt-out).
E. Compliance with Legal Obligations (Fulfillment of legal obligations, regulations and national and European regulations). Legal Obligation (Art. 6.1.c) For the period required by law for the specific purpose (e.g. 10 years for tax documentation).

4. PROCESSING METHODS AND TRANSPARENCY AI ACT

Personal data is processed using automated and non-automated tools, for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected.

Transparency on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI Act):

The Books Maker product uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to support and automate the process of creating and formatting editorial content. The Company undertakes to ensure that the use of AI takes place in compliance with the principles of transparency, non-discrimination and human supervision, ensuring that personal data is used only in accordance with the purposes specified in this policy (Purposes A and B).

5. DATA RECIPIENTS (SHARING)

Your personal data may be shared with parties acting as Data Processors (Art. 28 GDPR) or as Independent Controllers, for the purposes indicated above. Such parties include:

  • Hosting and Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For the secure management and storage of data and content from the mini-site and Books Maker service.
  • Payment Processors: For managing financial transactions related to the purchase or subscription to the Books Maker service.
  • Analytics Services: For analysis of website usage (Purpose B), only aggregated or pseudonymized data.
  • Legal/tax consultants: For fulfilling legal obligations (Purpose E) and for legal defense.

6. EXTRA-EU DATA TRANSFER

The Data Controller guarantees that any transfer of your personal data to countries not belonging to the European Union will take place only in the presence of one of the following conditions:

  • European Commission adequacy decisions.
  • Adoption of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission.
  • Adoption of Binding Corporate Rules (BCR).

7. DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS

As a data subject, you have the right to exercise the following rights, pursuant to Articles 15-22 of the GDPR:

  • Right of Access (to obtain confirmation of the existence of data and to know its content and origin).
  • Right to Rectification (to modify inaccurate personal data).
  • Right to Erasure ("right to be forgotten") (to obtain the deletion of data, when the conditions exist).
  • Right to Restriction of Processing (to request temporary suspension of processing).
  • Right to Data Portability (to receive data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format).
  • Right to Object (to object to data processing, particularly for direct marketing purposes).
  • Right to Withdraw Consent (at any time, without prejudice to the lawfulness of processing based on consent given before withdrawal).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Supervisory Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (www.garanteprivacy.it).

8. FAILURE TO PROVIDE DATA

The provision of your personal data (Name and Email) for Purposes A, C and E is mandatory as it is necessary for the provision of the Books Maker service and the fulfillment of legal obligations. Failure to provide this data makes it impossible to provide the service.

The provision of data for Purpose D (Marketing) is optional and the withdrawal of consent does not affect the use of the Books Maker service.
